Easter Sunday Club Site Visit
(Click here to read all about it)
Trowbridge & District Metal Detecting Club was formed in 1976 by 3
people one of whom still regularly detects and attends all the meetings. The
club has grown in to one of the main metal detecting clubs in Wiltshire.
For the full history of the club read this article by Dave Crisp.
The club has members of all ages and some members we may need to carbon date to
find out their real age!
Most members have been detecting for many years and have attained a
vast knowledge of detecting and its associated activities and are a great source
of help and guidance to new members.
The club holds a meeting every month where members are encourage to bring
along their finds for the monthly competition.
Members are always active and this is confirmed by the number of quality finds
that are shown at most meetings.
The meetings are regularly attended by our local Finds Liason Officer who provides information on finds and
records them for the The Portable Antiquities Scheme if appropiate.
The address of the Monthly club meeting is:
Forresters Arms Sandridge Road Melksham Wiltshire
SN12 7BN
